I want to connect an external large zinc anode to decrease the speed of shaft/prop zinc electrolysis. Does anyone know if the shrouds or other rigging is bonded to the engine/shaft/prop continuum? Otherwise I gather a wire must be run from the negative engine ground to the large zinc. 2007 36i SO Thanks

Normally the engine should be grounded with the strutt by means of a wire. Pictures of the inside of your boat would help alot.
Please dont take this personal , but I cannot understand why people not complete their questions for problems (and solutions for it) with pictures . It might sound corny , but it still rings like a bell .........' A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS ' Sorry for shouting

Hi Toby, This is not good practice..... for the following reason: If you connect your anode - which is in turn connected through your rigging, any stray electrical concerns "may" be drawn in that direction!! Ekk!!!! For what it will take, run an individual wire for your anode - easy peasy to do!! ATB Ian
