I'm planning on making up a bracket to site under the cockpit table of our SO 40, so that I can easily stow a few bottles, etc... The brackets will simply be two battens with separators and profiled at the ends to but up against the table legs.
The problem is the boat is in Turkey, and I am not.
Can anyone help me with the dimensions of the table legs for a 2001 model? Specifically I'm after the diameter of the table leg tubes, and the distance that they are apart.
Many thanks in advance.
PT
Will happily post pics of the completed project later.

I'm really sorry, I made up a box for my SO 40 last year, it's been very successful but I have not kept the measurements! A couple of tips though..... I didn't make up brackets. I simply drilled a suitable hole through the box ends and into the table legs. One screw each side has proved quite sufficient as the box sits on the base/tableleg mount. I made the box wide enough for the width of my binoculars(which have a compas on the top) about 100mm internal. I found that a wider box than this was likely to take a good kicking from crew using the base for "sitting out". At the end of the season I simply remove the box and store below to save wear and tear. I'm really sorry that I do not have the distance between the legs!!! I made it up in London and just put it in my bag to take to the boat which is also in Turkey. Best wishes Tomina

Thanks for the feedback anyway Tomina. It sounds like you made use of the same area though. My brackets/battens will sit about 10-15 cm's higher than the top of the fiberglass base, so people's feet (more specifically their toes) will still be able to rest on the base. At that height, a bottle of water, wine, or an Efes in a neoprene cooler shouldn't fall over.
I have similar setup on my Limbo, where the brackets/battens are scalloped out to create a series of semicircular drink holders, albeit in the shape of a box that is mounted forward in the cockpit well. Will try to take a picture on the weekend to give some idea of what I'm trying to do.
Cheers, PT.
