Hi.
I have an Arcadia with the lifting keel. Before when the keel was lowered it stopped with a thud as it swung out under the boat. Yesterday whilst out sailing the keel was lowered and just kept going. Fortunately the keel rope was caught before dissappearing into the keel tube....
What has gone wrong ? should I be worried, or do I just now have to be careful when lowering the keel so that it doesnt go to far?
Cheers Daryl

Hi Daryl,
I had the same problem on my Attalia. The lifting keel has metal tabs that rest on a ledge inside the main keel. At 20 years age corrosion had worn off the tabs on mine. It swang down too far, past centre because i could not force it back up.
I removed the keel and had two new pieces of steel welded on. Works great now.
