Can I use 1500- 2000 or 2200 w catle or heater while connecting shorepower? i.e. no problem at cables for heating, etc. Jeanneau 33i - 2011

Hi,
Providing your shore power cable is man enough then yes running 2<3kw is fine.
I have a 2001 S/O 37 - I can run up to 9kw before things start to trip out!! - but I wouldn't advise going this far!!

The connector normally used for shorepower is rated at 16A which translates to 4kw (in Europe, at least - half that in the States). You would expect any decent quality hook-up cable to be rated the same, so it is then down to the standard of the boat wiring.

The connectors commonly delivered with Jeanneaus in my area are rated for 30A.

You're right. I would love to be working with 220V, so I would have smaller wires to deal with.
