I have a loose starboard side forward stanchion at the midship entry position (the forward of the 2 'gate' stanchions). Tightening the allen bolt at the base doesn't help, and presumably a kitchen panel must be removed to allow some kind of repair. Has anyone done this, and do you have any advice from your experience? Thanks Toby

I can't help with that particular location on that specific boat but I can hold out some hope for you..
We had one wobbly on the port side of a SO42i. After removing the cabinet in the aft head I found that the repair required only that I tighten a nut that someone had forgotten at the factory.
I had feared fiberglass reenforcing and backing plate fabrication but that was all ok, just the loose nut.

Similar problem on my 42DS a year after launch. I sail in Scotland so noticed rain water drips in aft cabin before spotting anything wobbling on deck. ;D
I took off the lining under the deck at that point and spotted a loose nut that was wet. Also noticed that there was a 6" gap in the SikaFlex in hull deck join.
I removed the whole fitting by loosening the nut, taking off the metal backing plate and going on deck to undo the screw at base of the gate. The cover lifted off and I could see where the water was going.
Just a matter of removing the old SikaFlex under the fitting, letting everything dry and rebuilding with fresh SikaFlex (under the cover plate on deck and on backing plate down below).
I filled the small void in hull deck join as well. No problems since.
It is a simple enough job as long as you can get access to the area under the deck. But be careful not to drop any parts overboard when working. I lost the small locking screw when I did it (rushing to finish as next lot of rain started).
