high i am new to the forum and about to purchase my first Jeanneau very excited has anyone knowledge of how to proceed with resealing the forward deck saloon fixed polycarb glazing and recommended products to do so also u v protective coating strip has almost rubbed away and needs re doing all around the deck saloon glazing

thanks for the links sounds like a by annual job to keep an eye on i wonder if U V exposure might contribute to break down as the degredation is on the glazing side of the sealant i will experiment with coatings over sealant beads and report hopefuly not to quickly forward covers for extended passages sounds like a very good idea

Is the exterior paint(?) truly for UV protection or is it simply cosmetic? Our windows have not leaked (knock on wood) but the exterior paint has started to wear from washing the boat, etc. It would seem simple enough to tape and respray, but I did not want to do so if not necessary. My luck would have me spilling black paint all over the deck!

Hello for a new member. One message from 'windspeak' mentions u v strip being nearly rubbed away. This I suspect is happening with our windows. Presumably it is to protect the sealant for the windows. How do we repair or repalce it as uv is strong in Turkey.
