Hi all,
long time reader, first post in a long while. I am anticipating shipping my Jeanneau 42DS by truck in US and they have a limit of 13'6" for boat without mast. My boat is in charter down in BVI, so I can't just go outside with a tape measure - does anyone know what the height breakdown is on a 42DS i.e., height without mast, height without steering wheels, height without stanchions, etc? SeaDancer has the standard keel which produces a draft of 7' but I don't know how that equates to full height without mast or other protuberances. Anyone done this before or know where I can go to find it out? ~Thanks!

For what it's worth, my 44i came by truck from Baltimore to Newport (on I-95 part of the way). The stanchions and wheels were removed. My boat has the standard 7' draft keel also.
Don't know the measurements off the top of my head but it made it under all the bridges. Cabin on your DS is a bit higher, but I would not expect your shipper to have trouble.

Worst case scenerio, plan on pulling the keel while on the road, remove the wheels etc as mentioned, and you should be able to ship the boat OTR with out height issues. I'm not positive, but I think the rigs manufactured on the east coast, and sent out here to the PNW where I am show up with out the keel. having seen rigs shipped this way, I know you will make the bridge height.

I have a 2010 42 ds. recently measured it to determine the exact mast height. the distance from the waterline to the fibergalss area on the deck where the mast sets is 6'4". If you add your draft to that, you get 13'4". But, I am not sure if that spot is the tallest spot. It looks like the top of the cabin where the travelor is located is a little bit higher (i cant measure as I am not at the boat now.) it will be close. good luck
