I have a new 42DS and want to be a considerate neighbor in the marina. Is there a way to turn the speakers off in the cockpit so that they are only working in the cabin. I don't think my neighbors would enjoy everything Howard Stern has to say.

On my 36i when I turn off the electrics the radio aotomatically resets itself to factory settings. This includes the [fader?] control which balances the output between the front/cabin speakers and the back/cockpit speakers.
So, go into the radio set-up menu and set the speakers entirely to the front/cabin.
QED!

I had the same thing on 2 boats, using the "fader" would let me shift output to inside when necessary.

Hi,
I just made a connection between my Furuno VHF and de LG Radio (standard on 36i). You can connect the VHF (via the external speaker output) with 3,5mm jack plug cable (normally used for MP3 player connections) to the Aux input on the radio. Now you can hear the VHF voices over the cockpit speakers.
5 minute job and costs about 7 Euro.
