I seem to be having some probs with my pre-dieselpump , meaning , the pump that is used to bleed the system after the engine has run dry . I recently changed filters , but I was not able to pump up any diesel to fill up the filter again. So I had to pour up the filter myself in order the be able to start the engine. I dont seem to feel any resistance when I start pumping the lever , so it is impossible for me to manualy bleed the system although while running there is no problem what so ever with the engine , so the camshaft driven mechanisme works , it's just the manual part that is not cooperating. Does any one have had the same issues ? What could be the reason of this faillure ? Oh yeah , it's a Volvo Penta MD22 L-B Thanks. [a href=" "] [/a] The pre-dieselpump (or how is it called ?) is the enginepart in the lefthand corner.

Ok , solved the problem. Just turn the engine (with a wrench or something) a few rotatings furter , and after some experimenting the pump will be in a free modus so the manual pumping is a go. A cam on the camshaft also drives this pump so it's possible the engine has stopped at a point where this cam has put the membrame in an non working position.
It's simple , but one needs to know.
