Malcolm, and those of you across the Atlantic- We are searching for a source for metric lifelines. Evidently they are not available in the US, and Jeanneau no longer has them for our SO49. Anyone know where we can order from? Thanks, Berni

Berni,
I asked a local rigger type person, and they said it was cheaper in the long run to go with SAE fittings vs metric. Otherwise, by the time you pay freight etc to this side of the pond, it costs too much.

Do you mean the metric M4/M5 connectors? I've used www.yacht-steel.com in Germany in the past but would think that there should be a supplier somewhere in the USA; particularly since the USA is the only country left in the world which hasn't gone metric.

last year i used West Marine as my source to replace a lifeline on my 42ds. Being a national marine supplier, you could probably find a store on the east coast or if you have the length you could order a replacement from them. My replacement for a forward lifeline cost about $100. It fit great and included the fitting on both ends.
