On my SO43DS I realized some play in the rudder bearings. The Quadrant is moving in the waves and when I tear at the rudder at it's bottom in 1.8 metres depth (while diving), I can move it about a centimetre. I have the spareparts already ordered and on board. My question is now, whether it is possible to get the rudder out and exchange the bearings while the boat is in the water. Anybody did that before?
The two bearings each consist of an outside rubber tube and an inside "plastic"tube. All inputs concerning tips how to remove and install the bearings are welcome
Thanks, Ronald

IIRC one or two others thought about doing this in water, and eventually removed the boat from the water. But as I type this, there was someone toying with doing it in water, and may have. I'll try to look tonight to see if I can find the thread. I think it has been in the last 60-90 days in this area.
