I might have mentioned here that I had "Zanshin", my 2006 49DS, up for sale and as of this week she now has happy new owners and will soon be renamed (with appropriate ceremony). As part of the transaction I have come into temporary possession of a Beneteau 43 Cyclades, fresh out of charter with Moorings. I am going to sell this boat on, but am no longer a Jeanneau owner - hopefully that won't exclude me from this august forum I'll still keep my Avatar until someone gives me a cease-and-desist order. If all goes well, I will be placing an order for a new Jeanneau 57 within the next week or two and then, once again, become a Jeanneau forumite in good standing. This boat would be the one at the Annapolis Boat show in October and from there I'll be sailing her to the Caribbean, most likely as part of the Caribbean 1500 in November. If all doesn't go well, I'll be switching over to the Dark Side and getting a Hallberg-Rassy 48 - but I won't go into that here...

Either option, congrats.
Will assume the new boat will be at the Annapolis show.

Good news all round - both on the sale of your SO49 and the excitement of waiting and planning for a new boat J57 or HR48 - you of course remain a highly valued intrinsic part of our network anyway - this site is for anyone interested in Jeanneaus's - owners, crews, voyeurs , etc - past, present, future or otherwise Looking forward to seeing the pictures of the new Zanshin in due course - even if she is an HR cheers Malcolm

Congratulations - I truly hope you get the 57. They seem to be awesome. I assume you gave the new owners of ex Zanshin the link to the forum!
Again, congratulations!

I'm almost there with ordering the new Jeanneau 57, I have the pro-forma and contract from the Jeanneau dealer in front of me and only need a couple of bits of information before I sign in ink and then all I need to do is wait for October to come around.

Congrats Zanshin! Will you order 360 Docking on 57?

360 Docking won't be available for a while, I don't think that they have that large a saildrive yet and they are still producing with the 140-5 Volkswagen engine. I would order it if it were available, though.

FYI, I've been told I can test-drive 57 with 360 in France some time in June.

I'll be at the factory in early July and will see. Was the 360 docking model a prototype? As far as I know, the 360 is only possible with a saildrive and I know of no 140hp model in the marketplace. Perhaps they used a smaller saildrive to test the viability. Either that, or Jeanneau is going to use the Z-drives just like the big boys do

Yes, I believe we're talking proto-type and thx to Malcolm for his detailed info! 57 now comes with 140 hp Volkswagen motor, will that change for 360?

Evidently 360 with Hybrid Power System may not be available on 53 or 57 for a couple of years but 360 w/out Hybrid Power System will be available this year...?

I was told by my brokers at Cruising Yachts / San Diego that if I ordered 57 with 360 I'd receive in October...and that I could test drive one in France in June. Zanshin...you seem to be very steeped in all things Jeanneau and I'd love to talk to you...any way to reach you by e-mail or phone?

We have been given a target date of next February.I still have not gotten confirmation of Yanmar engine size. They have only estimated cost of hybrid package.Anxious to know that they are indeed making the. 360 sail drive with the 110 hp engine. If anyone has more info I would welcome it.

I'll be at the factory in a month so will know definitively after that. I was interested in the hybrid concept and was told it was presently just that - a concept. Will yours (markl1) have the large Lithium batteries? I did see cooperation with Z-drive which does show bigger engines and I think I saw 110Hp on some web page.
I can't wait until November to get sailing on my new home.
