Hi Guys, haven't posted here in a while. So I hope you are all hanging in there. I found out recently that I had to point the rudder quite to port to steer straight. This came quite suddenly but I can't really tell when exactly, only that I thought this weekend that it was quite odd since it was always spot on before. After a bit of searching, turns out the steering cables both ran on one sheeve. The upper one "jumped" down which created a bit more tensioning and thus the bias in steering. Of course, since they both ran on one sheeve, they were rubbing nice on each other but that wasn't the worst. The bigger problem is that the lower cable kinked up the uppper one which was chafing against the sharp edge of the sheeve and a strand came lose. (At least I only found one) So it really pays to have a look in there and if you think your steering is soft and lovely then perhaps the steering cables are too lose as mine felt quite good, very soft, perhaps a bit too soft. Would you worry about a broken strand on a 5mm cable? I'm getting a spare cable anyway but the question is now should I change right away or should I wait... Cheers, Tom

Hi Tom,
Thank you for sharing this, we will check the cables on our 36i. I would replace the cable and keep the old one as spare: no worries!
