All, I'm in need to replace the mast bracket and boom fitting that make up the gooseneck. Apparently, the boom was removed and not re-installed with the proper bushings as can be seen in the attached image. It would be great to find a US based contact for replacement parts for the 1994 SO42.1 Jeanneau or the manufacture's name & contact info for the boom. Thank you, Brian

Hi Brian try going to the US Spars website and follow the link to the pre y2k catalogue. www.usspars.com/preY2KCatalog.pdfYou will need to know which mast series is fitted to your boat It looks like you may have the wrong toggle (the interface fitting between boom and mast fitting) on the photo you posted, hence the wear damage hope this helps Mark

Brian,
They ie USSPars should have the info for you boat. They had the correct parts for my 85 Arcadia on file when I broke the boom a few years back. shipped the WHOLE boom to me about 10-14 days later.
Good folks down there in Fl to work with.

Brian, My Z spar rig had a similar gooseneck fitting and the plastic bush on the lower side fractured and fell out. This bush takes a lot of downward load from the vang and mainsheet. The load can be reduced by keeping the luff of the mainsail tight but that is not always practical. Also the pin on this was flush with the top and bottom and held in with a grub screw. The thread in the die cast stripped so I am no fan of this type of gear. My new kit has a solid stainless steel gooseneck that should outlast me and the yacht. Ask for some spare bushes with the new fitting and keep an eye on them. Regards David

David, thank you for your recommendations.
Did you purchase the SS Gooseneck from USSPARS?
I contacted USSPARS a few weeks back and they did not have the replacement parts in stock (possibly this week) but were very helpful with identifying the type 690 boom.
Best regards, Brian
