Thanks All, nice to hear you like the Caiman, we were not sure about it, we orig. wanted the hull to be black, but decided to go with the graphic. The only work I did myself was the research related to what equipment I wanted. We are having all the work done in Annapolis by different contractors, then we will sail her down to Hilton Head, SC.

Thanks Katielizz, we are thrilled with her! Handover/Shakedown week almost complete, items on the Punch list are minor and easily fixed. Our first sail was awesome. If all is ok, we leave on Saturday for our trip to SC. Black Caiman at the Chart house dock Annapolis Celebratory Handover feast Chart house set our table, delivered our food right to our boat, it was decadent.

Last bit of canvas work is done. Shake down week is complete, we start our journey tomorrow. I can not stress how wonderful this whole process has been. We started working with Bay Yacht Agency 3 years ago, Eric Smith, Rudy & Kris Vereen have been great to work with. The contractors they work with are the best contractors in industry. Last bit of canvas work A toast with our broker Rudy Vereen

Black Caiman is traveling well. A few days of sailing, now we are just motoring along. Really pleased with the choices we have made. The full canvas and cushions are a blessing. Love the room down below, oven works great, fridge is wonderful. At wrightsville now waiting for the fog to lift. We have passed about 4 Jeanneau boats going north, one said they saw Black Caiman on this site. Lots of fun.

Love the graphics on your boat. With 3 frineds I am taking delivery of a new 36i this week. We intend to install a raymarine autopilot and so would appreciate pics of your installation paticularly the linear actuator. We will be doing the installation ourselves with a little help from a professional.

It appears that there may have been some confusion among the dealers. We were originally told that our new 3 cabin 36i was to be built in the US thereby avoiding Canadian import duty. After the deal was done they told us that only the 2 cabin version was built in the US and ours would therefore come from France and that Jeanneau would cover the duty. Finally the boat was built in Marion and we are about to take delivery. We have just done a pre-delivery check and sail. The boat sailed beautifully and there were only a very few minor snags. We expect delivery in Toronto this week.

I would think a additional benefit of USA built Jeanneau is specs, including marine electical, to ABYC standards, vs. European standards.

Hi all, really busy getting our website up and running. If you would like the entire history of our boat search, charter/comparison, purchase and commissioning process. Please see our website crazymoosetracks.com under sailing/adventure blog. I am updating daily and have lots of pictures along with the complete log of our trip from Annapolis, MD to Hilton Head, SC. We just had our sailboat commissioned into the fleet at the South Carolina Yacht Club this past weekend, it was fantastic.... Hope to see you all at our website and look forward to your participation. Cheers!

Thanks to you all for the well wishes and good vibes, I had no idea how large this Jeanneau family is in size and how far across the world it reaches.
We have received 7 shout outs on the water from other boaters who have seen the Black Caiman on this site. It's fun to belong to such a great community. Cheers have a great summer!

Hi New 36i We also have the 36i 2009 in Australia ours has been working in a charter fleet at the Whitsundays. On her very first charter the people run a ground hitting a reef and as a result caused $40,000 worth of damage. What was found is the hull ribs are bonded to the hull not glassed this resulted in the hull flexing away from the ribs as the bonding failed and cracking of the hull. The grounding almost removed the keel and cracked the hull front and aft of the keel. One other thing to watch it the teak floors and toe rails ours is currently being replaced after two years of use its buckling and splitting we may have had a bad batch of teak fitted at the factory. But all in all we love our boat.

Could someone tell me what their 36i galley cabinet came with? (the large one on the left of the sink) Mine came with a small shelf located right under the sink, and two tracks that look like something could go there, and the bottom is open, for storage. There must be a reason that these two sets of tracks are there. Thanks Lisa Ps.. going to the boat this wknd. will get pics. of the parts people have been asking for, sorry so late, had to ask our contractor where they actually are located.

Hi Black Caiman,
The runners are for two plastic drawers/bins. If you have the two cabin version with the large "hold" under the port side of the cockpit you will have a set of 4 drawers. The galley drawers are the same. Good luck with locating some. It sound like Jeanneau owe you.
