Having come from a boat with twin water tanks across the beam and linked to empty together the new Jeanneau has separate fore and aft tanks so the question is, which to empty first? Lots of buoyancy in 45ft but a significant weight never the less. What do you folks think?

I always empty the forward tank first, since I have a fair amount of weight in my anchor and chain in the anchor locker. Once the tank is empty, it no longer adds to the problem of too much weight in the bow.

On our 39i I also use the bow tank first The attached image of the new 409 looks like she is lying bow heavy, the first few boats only came with an option for an aft tank I understand that all new ones will have the aft tank fitted as standard to ensure trim can be adjusted Malcolm
