I have just purchased a Sun Odyssey 40.3 ( 2 cabin version ) I wish to fit extra rope clutches. Can anybody advise how to remove the small wooden panels from the roof of head & rear cabin, to access the bottom of the clutches. Cheers, John

The first step in removing the headliner on our 2007 39i-P is to wash your hands to keep the headliner clean. The screw caps are removed and then back out the screws. With a long Allen wrench, insert the short end along the edge, turn it inward to catch the head liner and carefully pull the headline off the Velcro.

Congratulations on the 40.3 J and P, it's a nice yacht. I take it by now you would have undone every screw, nut and bolt, due to boredom waiting for the rain to stop. What I found when fitting more clutches to our SO was that it all fit's together like a jigsaw puzzle and sometimes you have to remove more bits than you want to, but heck what's 6-7 more screws when it's foul weather anyhow. While you are there under the "skin" tighten all the other bolts you can see. Cheers
