I am considering purchasing a Rocna 25kg anchor for "Rockstar" a S O 42i has any one any experience with this type of anchor, will it fit the Jeanneau bow rooler. At present I use a Delta as a main anchor and a Danfort as back up. Thanks Francis.

You should be ok. I use a 25kg on the 50 DS in place of the Delta and there is plenty of room, and Fortress 37 as a backup.

Just ordered a Ronca 25 for my 42DS and expect it to be delivered by mid-DEC...I'll let you know. I was told the fit will be OK. I got rid of the Delta 44 and have a Fortress as a backup aft anchor.

Our SO42I Performance has a Rocna 25. In order to fit it so that there was no worry about bashing the bow on the way in we extended the bow roller assembly by about 125 mm. Also re-enforced the sides of the bow roller assembly with some 6 mm stainless rod all around the circumference. Where we live (in the roaring 40's) the sheet metal sides of the roller assembly wouldn't have lasted very long without it.
I've been meaning to post some pix of the mods and will get with it and do so.

By the way, we haven't used the Rocna very much so far but when we have used it the anchor set almost instantly and retrieved without any problems.
It blew 25-30 knots overnight the first time we dropped this anchor so it got a good test.

I have used My Rocna Anchor from Sitka Ak. To La Paz, Mexico and felt very secure every night. I would not leave the anchoring to any old anchor, Just a Rocna! The very best anchors made!

Just a tip: use an aloy anchor shackel as that is the weakest spot on the rode. The reason is that the Rocna sets so quickly and there is NO GIVE like a regular anchor that slides along before setting. The Rocna will set long before the boat is slowing down. We have been setting our rocna for almost 8 months, almost everyday so I do know its ability.

I received my Rocna 25 anchor this week and installed it. Tested it three times and set excellently 3 times 1st time. I've attached a picture for you, but please note I have the anchor roller plate extended to avoid the old Delta from hitting the hull by adding a 1/2" SS plate. I sent you a separate email with the pictures

Thanks Guys, We just installed the new Rocna25 last week and it does what it says , sets first time and holds well, very happy so far. Has any one ever used a trip line called a "Anchor Witch" made in Spain by Snipmac innova? looks like it should do the job. Good Sailing, Rockstar.

Rocha recommended a 33kg anchor for the 50DS. Does anyone know if that anchor will fit on the bow roller? They also suggested 3/8 inch all chain rode. 250 feet would add almost 500 lbs including the anchor . Any experience about the effect on performance?

Since this is an anchor topic I might aswell raise my question about an Bügel anchor. Could anyone tell me if a 24kg bügel will fit my odyssey 40 DS. Meaning ,...will it hit de bow when hauling it up ?
Thanks

Just received some advice on the Bruce anchor on an SO 35.DO NOT FIT THE SWIVEL.Apparently when the anchor bites the swivel may fail!
