I have bought a Sun 2000 and it has the mast stepping kit supplied with it. Unfortunately there are no instructions or user manual. Can anyone offer a step by step guide on how to lower the mast ready for transportation?

Do you have the owners manual?
There is a diagram of the Mast Stepping system in the manual.
Let me know if you would like a copy of the page to which I am referring.

Thanks - I have been in touch with Herman- his manual is in Spain (with his boat) so he is unable to send me a copy of the relevant pages in the manual at this time, although I have the pictures of his modified system in use.
John - If you are able to let me have details from the manual I would really appreciate it.

I have recently stepped the mast after lowering it for the winter. Thanks for the advice, I am now fairly confident with the process. Whilst the mast was down I have run a topping lift from it. I also intend to fit a couple of mini jammers on the coach roof.

If you're thinking about adding jammers could I suggest sticking some on the side of the mast? We've got them either side on the SunFast and the Projection and they're invaluable, be it for kite work or just eliminating halyard creep on a laminate genoa.
