I have a 40L vertical HWS which has developed a leak in the soldered seam at the top of the unit. Is there a simple way of repairing the unit or am i stuck with buying a new one? Is there an alternative 40 L tank? The pic shows a new unit. I have removed the insulation to get at the soldered seams. Chris M Sirromcd

Hello Malcolm
Thank you for the link. Very informative and inventive too.
I have had the HWS repaired using a braising rod and it is successful.
However, I note the comments in the thread about longevity and as this unit is 10 years old I guess I will have to bite the bullet sooner rather than later.
In the meantime I will get some lead solder and a solder "bolt" to deal with future problems.
Thank you for the thread.
Cheers Chris
