I bit the bullet and put in a Gobius4 external monitoring system on the SS Holding tank. It does work but is expensive and does not really use marine grade components. Still probably the best solution however. I have a small review on my WS if you are interested. santosha.info/html/holding_tank_monitor.htmlGene

Great post, Gene. Many thanks. Co-incidentally, I also purchased one last week for my 2004 SO35, which has a 20 US gallon holding tank. Cruising last summer for 2 weeks while not knowing how full the tank was drove me nuts. Question - as part of the initial setup, you need to specify the thickness of the stainless steel holding tank wall (either 1.25 - 2mm, or 2 - 3mm). Also, the instructions indicate that you need to use 2-part epoxy adhesive to attach the 3 sensors if the tank wall is 2 - 3mm. What wall thickness did you program into the unit, and did you use 2-part epoxy? John

Good question John. I did not change any settings. I really don't know the wall thickness but the brackets seem to be about 2.5mm. I did not use epoxy to mount the sensors. What did you do?

I just checked the setting. Gauge 0 - 180 ohm European Std. This tank does not require Epoxy. I have no idea if my tank is Gauge 0 but it is certainly European and probably standard. This is the Default metal tank setting.

Excellent. Thanks, Gene.
I just got my unit and took it out of the box last night and read the instructions. I haven't yet installed it. Planning to do so on the May 23rd weekend.
I'll take the same approach as you, and not monkey with the default settings and see how it works. My tank is a bit bigger than yours, but based on your pictures, looks like its made from the same material.
I'll post an update on my (here's hoping!) success.
