Can anyone here tell me what the thickness of the floorboards is? I have a 49DS but think that the thickness is standardized in all the models. I am about to order some floorboard fasteners and require the thickness to configure them.
Thanks in advance!

You will need to verify the floorboards have a consistent thickness- I have seen laminated floorboards (plywood) that are one thickness, but the solid trim around them is thicker. You may want to verify the location of the fasteners to make sure you are not splitting the difference between the two thicknesses.

The DZUS fasteners I am planning on ordering allow variations, but I am several thousand KM from my boat and don't have the slightest idea of how thick the boards are.

Zan,
I'll try to remember to look at my 85 later today, need to go down to setup for a race tomorrow saturday. Its about 7am as I type this. IIRC in Europe you are about 10-12 hrs ahead of me!?!?!?!
I'm sure while I am not going to be perfect, I will be with in a half a cm or there abouts. 3/4 of n inch is ringing a bell, so about 2 cm.....

Zanshin, I'll be at my 49DS tomorrow ( Monday Australian time) and I will try and remember to measure a range of floorboards for you. If you are interested, I would also like to share some of the modifications I've made to my 49 over the last 4 years to enhance her offshore and cruising capability including power management, fuel capacity and consumption and my present project ( which some may say is sacrilege)- the construction of an integrated (ie replacing the outer pushpit stanchions) arch/davit arrangement to carry a 3.1 m tender + 15hp outboard + 2 120 watt solar panels. If you are interested are you happy for me to contact you directly of would you prefer via posts on this site? Regards PJ

After 3 trips in almost as many days to the boat, I remembered to measure my floorboards, they are 7/16 inches thick, so about 10 mm?!?
Hope that helps some.

Thanks MartyB & pj - as the saying goes, "Only he who has but one clock truly knows the time"; so I will pass on buying the floorboard fasteners for this trip until I've measured my own boards pj - take a look at my modifications page to see some of the stuff done on Zanshin ( Zanshin Modifications) and I'd love to see what you are doing or have done, and this forum is a good place so that others can stay informed as well. I used to drive by Mooloolaba occasionally, I lived right over Kirribilli House but headed to the King's Cross area frequently and always wondered what the correct pronounciation was.

Malcolm, I'm happy to post my modifications as suggested by Zanshin. I'll merely list without any expansive explanation, however the list will be quite long. How would you prefer me to post the list? A separate thread or what? Regards PJ
