Does anyone have a Polar Diagram for a Jeanneau Melody?
Many thanks.

Danny, how is it going? I´m getting ready to take off for the Virgins as soon as 2 of my sons get here from the States. I have the Polars for the Sun Legende also but I really don´t understand what they mean, other than probably the max speed attained on varying wind conditions and sailing angles. Is that it? (mine are in French) Anyway, fair winds and good to hear from you.

Notorious, Did you get the polars from this site? If so, those are the ones I got from Jeanneau. You basically got it right. They do give you more info. Thay also tell you what was the sea state, the sails used, if a reef was taken on the main, the heel angle at VMG. That's all the info in french Want me to translate the french terms used? We got our first real sailing weekend last weekend. Summer conditions, nice wind, a bit of swimmimg. Nothing like the virgins but it still very enjoyable. I wish you a good vacation and beautifull sailing. Danny

Thanks, Danny, same to you! Well, I "translated" using the translation engine and surmised that it gives the approximate speed at different points of sail and different wind condition. I guess it´s like the performance figures for cars. Useful to have and compare how poorly one sails as compared to the "pros". I´m planning on cleaning the bottom this weekend and start cruising on the 8th I´ll take some pictures to share with you all. Fair Winds!
