Hy, I hope to become owner in short time of a 52.2 of year 1998. My question for you experts is the following: Is it possible to replace the standard hutches with flush deck hutches ? is there someone who already did it ? Thank you for your help. Ciao Franco

With sufficient money, anything can be done I spoke with a professional captain of a beautiful Oyster 76 recently who had, among other toys, flush hatches. He was not a fan of them, since they need to drain inside the boat and the tubing used is very small and easily clogged with the kind of dirt and grit that can accumulate in the runoff water. The hatch drains go into the bilges. While they look beautiful the maintenance aspects are worrisome. While Goiot and Gebo make low-profile hatches, I think you'd have to go to a specialist to get fully recessed ones, i.e. www.freemanmarine.com/Hatches3100Series.htm or the like.

INTO THE BILGES? That can't be true On a friend's X-Yacht each flush hatch has it's own seacock, also not much better...

No matter how bad the draining is, those flush hatches look AWESOME!
