We have a Jabsco Par-max 3.5 model 32600-7006 water pump which is 10 years old. Does anyone know how long this type of pump typically lasts? The model is obsolete, does anyone know how to work out which current model to buy to keep as a spare? Thanks. Steve

Hi ChinaGirl,
I have just bought the one Charlie-Bravo mentioned above and installed it to replace the 3.5 that was on my 2012 44DS. Much better water pressure! Works very well...
The previous one was leaking and getting air into the hoses, which was stopping the pressure switch to turn the pump off. The pressure switch was also badly corroded, probably due to the leak that seemed to have been there for a long time.
If you want to leave all the hoses in place for them to match the new pump, you will need to mount it about 20-25mm above the old one.
I did a post-mortem on the old one and found that I couldn't even remove all the screws to the head of the pump as one of them was seized into the casing. I ended up destroying that screw/casing and found some very soft diaphragms inside. I'm glad I decided to replace it as it's given me peace of mind for the next few years.
Hope this helps, Cheers, Allegria
