Good morning all ! New here and new to blue water sailing. Just bought my boat and will take it over in a few weeks. It needs some improvements and some refreshment in many regards but is in excellent shape. Looking forward to refit it to my expectations especially the copper coat paint to protect the hull better than the regular antifouling paint. The previous owner did the antifouling two years ago. So I need to do that I guess pretty urgently. I am sure that I will find tons of posts regarding the hull topic. I do have a few other cosmetic matters like the cupboards and doors inside of the boat that are in excellent shape but the sun paled the colour a bit out. Maybe I find someone who did a refreshment here and could tell me what works best with the surface of the timber and a few other things which are more cosmetic related. Looking forward chatting with you Regards Peterson

Indeed I was always fascinated by the shape and the way how it is built. It s a huge difference between the newer models. I was almost buying a jeannau 50 DS build 2012. But when I saw how thin the material now is and how many cracks in the gel coat at the baxboxes are due to the wobbly material, I was so disappointed and refrained from buying it.

Good day Malcom ! Thank you ! Also thank you for the link. It is pretty helpful for me. Since my owners manual is in German. If German helps you I can provide you with the manual but unfortunately I do not have the English version of it. I am still looking for a spare part catalogue and a source to buy spaceports but that seems to be quite difficult. You own a 52.2 too ? As I said I am pretty new to that and I have a few questions if you dont mind. Kind regards Markus

Hi Markus
Regret we don't have a 52.2, just a Sun Odyssey 39i which we have owned from new in 2008.
You could ask Jeanneau Customer Support by email if they have the manual in English and a parts list. Possibly also the electrical schematics.
You can email them in either English or French. Their email is: service.client@jeanneau.fr
You should include the year of build and preferably the Hull HIN number, which should be in your paperwork or perhaps aft on the starboard side near the toe rail, right aft or possibly in the engine room.
I will message you with my email address as useful to have a copy of the German manual if you are prepared to scan yours.
As these Jeanneau's get older the more documentation that can be retained the better.
There are lots of experienced sailors here for larger Jeanneau's, so please ask.
Good luck, looking forward to more updates.
Kind regards Malcolm

Thank you so much for your advice. I will do so and hope that I can get the information. I will be able to scan the manual in a month or so since I am travelling at the moment and will be back in 5 month. I will make use of the knowledge of the sailors here that is a phantastic forum and thank you for maintaining it that well ! Have a great week ahead Peterson
