Hi All,
Changed the bellows in our dripless and thought about installing a flexible coupler before putting things back together. Looking for some feedback on brands and performance and if the money is worth it? Also does adding the small amount of length create an issue when under power? Here's a tip for removing the coupler from the shaft if you ever embark on that nightmare. Let it soak overnight with some kind of anti-seize and get a gear puller. Thanks in advance. 03' S/O 35

An interesting idea, but not sure of the benefits for the price, ASAP £395 for a 25mm shaft. feel the shock loads when engaging gear should be mostly absorbed by the prop being surrounded by water, and unsure of the pro’s once the prop is spinning except perhaps compensating for errors in shaft alignment.
Interested to hear experiences of those who have fitted one, and the theories/ benefits, there seem to be quite a few on the market so someone thinks they are required, my shaft seems to spin quite smoothly (at the moment) without one.

I wanted to install a Sigma Drive this years. I've heard a couple friends who installed that toy on their shafts. They reported smoother running, less vibration, less noise when motoring. Too bad, because of the shaft brake in my boat Bruntons would need to custom build it for me which takes a bit longer than what I'll be on the hard. I think there was a member on here which did a rather detailed post about the Sigma Drive installation and his findings???

I fitted a Sigma Dive on my boat four years ago and I'm very pleased with it. I also have a PSS dripless shaft seal and I believe that the smooth running reduces the wear on the graphite seal.

Another vote for tge Bruntons Sigmadrive. We fitted on 5 years ago, plus upgraded the OEM Prop shaft with a Duplex stainless shaft. The OEM had worn badly at the Volvo seal, noticeable grooves. The duplex is much harder, we still use the Volvo seal and touch wood totally drip free. Malcolm
