Hy folks, thank you for the chance to be a member. I am very new to power boats and have just bought a 2022 Merry Fisher 795 Legend. We have it moored on the Norfolk Broads at Stalham in Norfolk. With a 200hp Yamaha engine (a sledge hammer to crack a nut ) the engine is only ticking over at the regulation 4 to 6 miles an hour allowed, so as not to destroy the banks. We have shore power in a lovely mariner and the other moorers are a really friendly bunch always ready to help with any problems. It will be very helpful, I'm sure to read through the threads and learn from more experienced boaters. Thank you again for the chance to be here, Lindaella.

You are very welcome! We love the Broads! We used to live in Suffolk, so never call them just the Norfolk Broads as most of the media does.
Many years ago we berthed in Lowestoft in our shallow draft sailing yacht. When we locked through the Oulton Broad lock keeper said, we should have bought a power boat! When the mast was out we explored the entire network, even the Rivet Ant and up to Wroxham, but chickened out on that bridge. Although in one river we managed to simultaneously go aground and touch the cabin on the overhang!
Enjoy your boat and whenever possible take her offshore to clean the engine as they don't like being used at tickover...
Cheers Malcolm

Thank you MalcolmP, we are going to have a look at Brayden Water next week for a possible burn up for the engine in the future, as a couple of 70 year olds we are out to have fun.
