Hello everybody, last weekend I noticed some water ingress in the bilge of my 1998 SO 34.2 After some cleaning an drying I found the source: One of the keel bolts is leaking. Obviously the seal between hull and keel failed. I guess the best option is to remove the keel on the hard, inspect the joint faces and reattach ist properly (probably with new bolts as well). Any other suggestions? Has anybody experience regarding the blob of unknown material Jeanneau decided to put on top of the keel bolts? Has anybody removed this stuff? Thanks Carsten

I yesterday contacted the master boatbuilder at the yard and he confirmed my guess that the keel needs to be removed completely. He gave me a first estimation of the costs of approximately 6.5k€. I will post updates and photos....

I will post updates and photos.... That seems a high price. I was charged €1800 (France) in 2019 to have the keel on an SO36i dropped and rebedded. That didn't include lifting but it was less than 3k overall.

It was just a rough first estimate including removing the mast and lifting. Thae boat will be on the hard by November 4th and the yard will then give a detailed cost estimation...
