Is it a temp sensor? Do you have ambient air temp reading on any of your instruments?

Read your posting and quickly looked through all the pictures taken on our Yachts 51!
How embarrassing, 4 years of ownership and Ive just noticed them.
What they are, I have no idea, but temperature senders, not sure!

Try applying some ice cubes while looking at your ambient temperature display.

Mmm I’m not sure where to look in 6 years of ownership I have never noticed anywhere that identified ambient temp. not saying your wrong however as we don’t have air con but the wiring loom would seem to be common to those that do. Maybe it has something to do with aircon control if a temp sensor ?

That's a big sensor, and the potted connection with a double gasket makes it look like it might be designed for underwater use. It really is probably a temperature sensor or a magnetic sensor/switch.
