Sugar Mountain's out for the winter. I see I have some small pits/ chips in the steel keel. The surveryor of the boat on purchase told me to keep up with this - I think by cleaning out rust and applying epoxy??? Anyone help out with the process?

Your description is pretty good. Clean out the rust and apply epoxy. And then anti-fouling paint, of course. I do a little bit each year, and it's not hard to keep up with it. But back in the 80's I had another boat with an iron keel, and since I was clueless about boat maintenance, it got away from me. That would have been a bad situation if I hadn't sold the boat.

On my old 43DS I noticed the pitting and it was pretty bad towards the end but Inever did anything about it until I sold the boat. Here are the pictures after sanding and filling in with epoxy.
