Hi all, I am an enthusiastic SO37 (2002) owner. We bought this boat 2 years ago and are very happy with the space and luxury we have now. Before this we owned a GibSe92 and a Plastivela Kudu. The boat is well maintained and we have an inmast furling system. Normally I would never go for inmast furing, but it works fine! Last year I repaced the navigation comupter with an Axiom9+ with Navionics maps. I had to do some ployester modification to the steering column. Nice that we can combine it now with our tablet navigation. We also installed AIS (EmtrakB954), so you can catch us sailing. Our home harbour is in "Dinteloord", the Netherlands. We do have a challenge now with the windows that are glued to the side of the cabin. The starboard rear is leaking and I sealed it temporarily. Now I have the idea to replace all 4 windows and asked our local Jeanneau dealer for a price for new windows. Cost = 1.480 EUR (4 new perspex). Therefore I decided to redraw the windows in a CAD program, extract the DXF and ask a local company to cut them. Now the cost will be 160 EUR, but it depends on my measuring and drawing capabilities . Well that's it for now. Kind regards, Mark

Welcome Mark, and hope your measuring is good, if it all works out well you can share the details here to help other 37 owners.
Look like a big money saving event.

Hi CB,
It will be a big money saver! The shape of the window is quite complicated. I use a combination of photo's and measurements to re-engineer the shape in a CAD program. The front window looks pretty good. The rear window I will have to adjust the shape a bit. My challenge is that I do not have a printer big enough to test my capabilities on a normal piece of paper first. So I do some intermediate testing while glueing several A4 papers together that I printed on my normal printer. It means I have to test it with the real end product when I think I am ready for it. (thin perspex will only cost 15 Euro, so I will do that first)
Will keep you informed.
KR, Mark

Occasionally the pencil is as mighty as the mouse, if you get stuck, a large piece of paper stretched over the existing window and the shape ‘pencilled in‘ can provide remarkable results, then transfer the measurements on the paper to the computer for mechanised cutting of the material, or use the pencil measurements to double check the calculated computer layout. It worked well for me creating parts for Aston Martin , Rolls and Bentley in my earlier working life, but I never let on that paper and pencil were the root of my design speed !
