We are a family of 4 (twins nearly 10 years old) and live in Vancouver, Canada so PNW conditions. Currently have a 22' runabout which has a 250 Merc sterndrive and looking to upgrade in the next couple of years to a boat we can spend 2-3 days on. Narrowed my options and I think the Jeanneau boats are at the top right now based on size/price/features. Also considering something like a SeaRay Sundancer. Torn between the Weekender and the Sport, pros and cons to both. I want to do a little bit of fishing and definitely will be crabbing so the sport seems better in terms of usable deck space in the back. The front seating is nice, and makes it a much better day boat when you have some friends on board. The Weekender is better for the weekend family trips with more space inside, better aft seating, and a bigger galley. Decisions On a different note, some areas we want to explore only allow dinghy access. How are owners of the 895s managing this? Inflatable in the storage locker? Kayaks on the roof rack? Swim to shore? Ocean is chilly around here even in the summer.

We have an 895 Sport and are very happy with it. Yamaha 250’s vs 200’s, seating up front, better (sturdier) rail setup and what we think is a better windshield design. We have mounted a small microwave on the salon cabinet and that is working out well.

My hunch is you are going to get a lot more mileage (usage) using it as a day boat vs many overnighters. So the sport is probably a better fit.
