I didn't look at the weather report beyond the light winds. I should have noted that a north swell of over 2m and 13s interval is in the process of arriving.
I wish I could head into the lagoon, but I'm doing home-office and have conference calls scheduled for the Simpson Bay bridge openings...

It could make for an exciting ‘ backdrop’ to a video call , and still not a bad office to work in!

I use a background image for the calls, but today my coffee cup slid sideways during a call and that showed up on the screen and raised some eyebrows! Most of my colleagues have no idea that I'm not sharing the same rain, wind and snow that they are...
Things have not gotten better, but the most recent waves models show the swell veering and getting less bothersome tomorrow. I still would like to enter the lagoon but I have a conference call for the 3PM opening and need to check out the inside of the lagoon for anchoring spots before risking the last opening of the day at 5PM; and I've got calls until 4:30 so fear that I'll have to grin and bear it here tonight.
Happy hour beers are only $2 ashore though - that'll be my soporific of choice today.

Blue tac on the coffee cup base should answer, but may require a straw for consumption which could also raise eyebrows.
The lagoon looks a good option, and if the models I look at are correct it would be good to be in the lagoon by 1200 (UK time) Friday, not much change till then, 3M waves coming from the north for late Friday onto Sunday, ……. if you work weekends it could be an issue.
Enjoy the warm rain, pouring with frozen lumps here.

Most of my colleagues have no idea that I'm not sharing the same rain, wind and snow that they are... That's really funny! I'm retired but consulting on a regular basis. When I'm in a meeting on my boat, my colleagues know where I am. This way, they really understand that I'm retired and don't want too much work thrown my way.

charlie -Bravo: I do have nonslip on some of my coffee cups, but that just changes the sliding motion to a tipping-over one and I prefer the former when it comes to scalding liquids. The GFS model shows the northerly swell shifted this morning to a NE swell but the waves here haven't gotten the message yet. Today is one of the few days where I'd love to have an office that doesn't swing and move about. I took my depth-sounder and dinghy into the lagoon yesterday and couldn't find a spot deep enough for me to anchor that didn't put me in the channel. The winds are going to shift today and when that happens I will find a spot inside and get some calm. And get some sleep. Nonetheless, the sunrise was nice this morning.
