HI, I have a 2018 SO419 and would like to add a second propane tank. There is space in the lazarette to add the second tank but it needs to be the same size. It is smaller than a standard grill tank. I have attached photos of the markings on the tank. I am not sure if all 10.7L tanks are the same dimension? Does anybody know where I can purchase a tank so it fits? Thanks in advance-

Hi Joedunn,
I had a similar issue with the tank sizing when I eventually needed to replace the two propane tanks supplied with the boat originally. It turns out that the standards cover the volumetric capacity of the vessel, but not the actual height or diameter. You may find the standards in your area of the world much the same. In addition, the top protector collar for the valve seems to vary in size from one manufacturer to another. I found I had to take a tape measure with me and a note of the maximum overall height and diameter that would fit. If you look in the storage cage of a typical “swap and go” outlet, you will often see a selection of sizes.
The locker on the SO30i only had room for one bottle, so I carried the second in the life raft locker as a convenient well ventilated space. As with the home bar-b-que, the bottle runs out only when you are cooking, so a spare to enable a quick switchover is essential.
