I recently purchased a 2003 model year Jeanneau 43 Sun Odyssey in Marina del Rey. I am seeking a motor mount bracket that can be attached to the stern pulpit of the boat to hold a 65-pound Nissan 5-hp outboard motor. I have tried fitting an off-the-shelf motor mount from West Marine, but this will not work because where the horizontal and vertical crossbars of the pulpit intersect there is a curve in the horizontal part of the pulpit. All the off-the-shelf motor mount brackets require a 90-degree intersection of the horizontal and vertical crossbars. Is there a motor mount accessory that Jeanneau makes for my boat? Or can anyone suggest an alternative solution? Thank you. Michael Rosenfeld Tel: 310 301-9500 Tel: 310 871-8169 (mobile phone) Email: miker@microscom.com

I have a 42ds and am ordering an Edson motor mount. It doesn't need the vertical post so you can mount it anywhere on the stern rail. It is expensive, but I found the best price at www.defender.com (They currently only carry the one for 1.5" rail, but I have ordered one for 1.0"). - Steve
