One of my faucets won't work anymore, I want to replace it.
It has a short metal-clad lead going to a blue/red plastic connectors. They look like quick-disconnect, but I can't figure out how they disconnect. Can anyone name the system that is being used?

Possibly there might be a ‘ring’ on the pipe connector that you push toward the fitting to release the pipe, this is common to JG speed fit and many other quick couple fitting brands.
Some have an insert just behind the release ring to prevent it accidentally getting knocked and releasing the captured pipe, these inserts can make the fitting visually challenging, appearing as a solid object, but with examination you might see a split join in it to open and remove it and allowing the ring to be pushed to release the pipe.
I have not seen blue / red connectors, but have seen blue / red locking inserts.
Maybe others have the same fittings and will come along soon with the secret to release ! , failing all else post a pic with your new tinterweb gadget , it might help, .
Good luck

Hi Zanshin, I think our connectors may have been John Guest. In which case they will have a script JG logo on the plastic “nuts”. Good website with instructions which will help you confirm the appearance.
In which case, they may or may not have a red plastic lock clip. Pull this off, push the grey sleeve in to close the groove, the on direction, then the hose should pull out. Pushing the sleeve in releases the little metal teeth to release the hose so it can pull out.
There were also different ones which were on the pump. So I think two different types used at different times. So look for the JG
When you do get them off, do not put your finger in the end!

PS I see Charlie Bravo beat me to it.

Googling the "John Guest" fittings didn't give me a match, so I made a picture: I wonder if it might be a Whale/Sea Tech? Perhaps I pushed in the collet but didn't use enough force to pull it out. I'll try that tomorrow morning - right now I've just returned to the boat from "happy hour" and shouldn't be operating any equipment at all I have to get a new faucet and install it, as my guests are arriving in the afternoon!

I'll give it a shot...
All the fresh water connectors used in the boat are Whale.
The connector is released pushing on the white "ring" seen on your picture behind both the blue and red hoses. To visualize things a bit... The sliding / connecting part is the one inserted into the hoses. That's the ones you have to pull on.
SVB carries the whole Whale line connectors. Here is the part inserted into the hoses:
To release the hoses, first make sure there is ZERO water pressure left in the system, otherwise they will not release. Then, push on the plastic ring (pushing the hose part a bit forward at first helps). Once the ring is pressed in completely, pull back on the hose, voilà.

Hi Zanshin, I have to agree with the Whale style, they are like the ones on our water pump, not John Guest.

Thanks everyone - that seems to have nailed it!
I was pushing the ring, which is spring loaded, but wasn't trying to remove the pipe itself, but the whole collar. Looking at the system, I think I'll just unscrew the Whale fitting from the faucet and not risk the integrity of the plastic assembly by fooling around with it. The metal faucet is no longer working, neither hot nor cold is coming out. And I've already cleaned it out once a year ago when the hot stopped working; there's some sort of a filter assembly in there for which I can't get a replacement.

Update - it seems that European and American faucets use different connectors and thread sizes. I'm on the Dutch (US) side and of course nothing fit. I will need to head out to the French side to find the correct fittings.
