I have just moved my Sun 2500 to the Orwell (Woolverstone Marina) and am looking for some lunch stop recommendations. Ideally somewhere we can sail to in 1-2hours and berth (for ease of getting ashore without a dingy) where there is a decent pub / restaurant for lunch and then we will sail back.
Many thanks, Richard

Shotley is a good option, choice of two pubs and lovely walks too! Enjoy sailing and exploring in your Sun 2000. Well worth going across to the Walton Backwaters, you generally need a dinghy, but you can by arrangement berth in the little pool next to the Walton and Frinton Yacht Club.

Also go up to Ipswich choice of two Marina's Neptune and ABP. Lots of pubs in waterfront and in town.

Wrabness Foreshore, up the Stour, is a delightful place for an overnight stop, by picking up a vacant mooring. Just be aware of your draft on the ebb of the tide, most mooring bouys are in deep water.
