G'Morning group!!!
Looking forward to install a couple of blocks aft to redirect gennaker sheets to the main winches. Couple of questions here, What type (size, WL) and more importantly where to install them?
Any ideas?

On my 36i I had a pair of Harken 57 blocks shackled to the eye to which each leg of the back stay attached. I also used them for genoa sheets when sailing poled out.

I use snatch blocks shackled to the pad eyes just forward of the rear winches on my 39i. This way I take them off when not flying the kite.

Hi,
I also have Harken blocks, not sure of the size. I use a soft shackle to connect the block to the aft cleats.

Thanks all!
We just found a group of snatch blocks we used with the spinnaker sheets on a Tartan 30C we had. So that part is pretty much covered.
I think we'll attach them on the base of the back stay, as per Quiddle suggestion.
Fair winds Y'all!!

Just to add , I ran a loop of shockcord through the centre of the Harkens to the pushpit so the blocks didn't flop about when not in use.

Now that you mention pushpit.... funny thing... English is not my tongue language, Spanish is. The g'old Tartan 30 I used to sail had a "pulpit", or so I though -FOR YEARS. Now you mention "pushpit" and not being quite sure on what it was, I look it up, and it dawns on me that the "pulpit" is not called so for the place from where the speakers talk, but is "PULLPIT" (if pushpit is the aft 'rail' the one that push the boat forward, the pullpit is the opposite....) Oh man, English is amazingly weird.... Thanks

To be fair, pushpit is a bit of a made up name. Pulpit is the forward solid rails around the bow, which slightly resembles the pulpit in a church from where sermons are delivered. "Push"pit came about from the opposite of "pul"pit as a weak pun. Another term, used on larger boats normally, is taff rail. Hope that's cleared it up Blocks on my 36i:

Thanks for the explanation. Funny thing is "pushpit" seems to be quite accepted.
In spanish the terminology was a lot worse when I started sailing some 30 odd years ago as each and every boat used to have a different name for everything on board!
Will post pictures of final setup ina couple of weeks, after we pulld the boat out for checkups a nd paintjob.
Fair winds and following seas!!
