On our DC panel, we have a breaker labeled Galley Blower. I don’t see anywhere in the galley that there could be an exhaust fan, so what is this breaker for?
we also have one labeled fans, but I find it hard to believe there would have been a separate circuit run throughout the boat for fans. Unfortunately, the English Owners Manual has wiring schematics in French, and they are incomplete…

Hello Mesteve,
I’m not sure about the “Galley Blower” but perhaps it is a factory option as a galley range hood and only supplied if specified. A bit like having a generator position on a switchboard but not having the generator installed. On the SO42DS and the SO36i I know from experience that the fan wiring is included even if the fans are not fitted. That way the wiring loom is standard for all boats irrespective of optional accessories.
I hope this helps,
Trevor

Mesteve,
I have the same switch on the switch panel but never found a wire over the galley for it so i just wired my galley fan to the saloon lighting circuit. Andrew

I’m doing some wiring at the moment and noticed a circuit in the wiring diagram for a ‘ventilateur’.. I also saw wiring with the same identifies (VE) in the engine compartment. It is the centre of a three fuses, to the right of shunt
Incidentally - during this process I also noted that the bow thruster is only charged by the alternator, even though the shore power charger has three outputs.. ?!?

charging of the 2 x 50Ah bow-thruster batteries has always been a bit of a mystery to me but i believe they are connected to the engine battery circuit. So whenever yr engine battery is being charged the bow-thruster batteries are being well looked after. My system works OK so i have not changed anything. Andrew
