Group,
My 2019 NC 895 has 45 round lead weights on the port side below the guest berth. I've read that this is intended to counteract a known imbalance that results in a starboard list. My vessel still has a starboard list of approximately 1-2 inches (visual estimate). I'm interested if any other 895 owners have looked at this and how much lead weight they have...and if they have added any weight.
Thanks in advance

Where are the weights exactly and what do they weigh? I've looked uner the berth at the h2o tank, but didn't notice weights. There's so much equipment on the starboard side, water heater, poo tank, galley, head, batteries, etc. This is theoretically balanced by the cabin justified to port. I haven't noticed a list yet, but we'll see.

To my knowledge all the 895’s have a couple hundred pounds of lead weights on the port side. Under the removable plywood floor panels that are over the water tank there is a 2nd plywood panel beneath on the port side outboard of the water tank. Under this plywood is where they are located. I’ve played with the idea of removing them and adding the equivalent weight with gel batteries. Should be easy to provide some venting. The wiring might be a bit more challenging. But this is just an idea that I haven’t engineered or seriously looked at from a safety perspective. I could have sworn that these weights were discussed in a previous thread but couldn’t find it. Anyway... 2” of list to starboard is a lot. On my 895, with the waste tank empty (starboard side) and the heater diesel tank full (port side) and my standard storage of on board gear, my 895 sets level.

The weights are located as described by Capt. Lynn. They are glued into place, so the total weight is unknown to me. I also remember some previous discussion about the weights, but I'm not sure where that thread is. My 895 has a dinghy on the starboard rooftop, so with a full(ish) blackwater tank the starboard load would be around 260 lbs. The list is mild, but noticeable, when the boat is in the slip. Otherwise, not an issue.
