Group,
I have a 2019 NC 895 that is kept in a salt water wet slip. There is water in the bilge (not salty). A while back I found water where the midship bilge pump resides and also under the water tank. Cleaned all that up and both have stayed dry. The boat has air conditioning, but no genset. The AC is set to come on as the temperature rises during the day, so it runs for a few hours every day. There is a hose that drains condensate from the AC to the area below the cockpit (where the AC pump resides). As a result, water also accumulates in the stern back to the sternmost bilge pump.
Yesterday I checked the midship low areas and they were dry. I cleaned up all the water (~5 gal) and turned off the AC and observed. I seemed to stay dry. So...it looks like I don't have a leak or water intrusion elsewhere and that the water is just the AC condensation.
Those of you who have AC...are you experiencing the same? Should I not be running the AC this way?
Thanks in advance for any comments.
