Hello, I have recently received the brand new unit of the Merry Fisher (NC for the US market) 895 which we have ordered end of last year. After the reception inspection I see that no gel coat was applied to the inner fiberglass reinforcement where the outboard motors are attached (2 x Yamaha F150). Here a photo of how it looks: i.postimg.cc/jqgdSSkP/20200701-164754.jpgI ask to the dealer to rework that part as this seems to be a poor workmanship, but he said this is the same in all MF895 they are selling and comes like that from factory. Could you please check in your boats how this part looks and let me know your opinion? Thanks for help! Jesús

Hi, Besides this point, are you happy with the workmanship? I just order a nc895sport pre rigged for twin Verado 250HP, and actually Sport are made in Polland, and every time I read something from bad workmanship coming out of the Cadillac facilities, I make a nightmare of a story that my boat is hull number 1 from Cadillac.

Hi NC,
I bought my boat in Spain, so mine was made in Poland and I am roughly happy with the general workmanship of the construction of the boat.
During the reception inspection I found some issues, like a bit water entering in the bow hatch (the dealer removed it and seal it well) or a wrong adjustment of the fiber cover of the WC which do not allow keep the WC cover opened.
Also I found some issues with the external upholstery, for example a clip that was wrong sewing and do not reach the point to fasten and a problem with the cushion of the bow sunbath, where they install 2 female pieces of velcro and do not fasten .
So, a lot of not important small problems which the dealer was able to fit in a couple of days without any problems.
Hope this help to you.
Regards, Jesús

Hi NC,
I made the sea trial on the Mediterranean Sea and unfortunately I dont have any good video of the trial because due to the Covid19 situation we had a lot of restrictions onboard.
Anyhow I am moving the boat to my homeplace in the northwest region of Spain in the North Atlantic Ocean and will make some videos for you during the weekend.
Regarding the performance, I have been sailing with my wife during some days in the Mediterranean (around 12 motor hours) with the 2 x Yamaha F150GETX and we got 16 to 20 mph at 4.500rpm with a fuel consumption of 50 to 60 liters hour.
Also with the 2 outboard motors and flaps the boat its really easy and precise to pilot and its navigating really well and safe in not calm waters.
For mooring, defenitely the bow thruster its a must have and will make mooring and demooring really easy.
As I said, will try to upload some videos soon.
Regards!

Sorry, I have to ask… to move from the Med to northwestern Spain (La Coruña?) you would go into the Atlantic and around Portugal? Or travel by road inside Spain?

Hello Timbray,
We have navigated from Empuriabrava (really close to the border with France) to Valencia about 240nm and then we load the boat into a truck and now it's on the way to Portonovo (south of Galicia region).
Regards!
