Folks, I want to remove these numbers from the side of our boat. I’m not to keen to just pull them as they may tear. Ideas please on how best to do this job. Ian

Hair drier is more gentle than a heat gun. The big problem is the colour change in the gell coat. I have no idea how to blend that in.

I’ve had success using the water from a boiled kettle.

I used a razorblade on a hot day. Use a soap-water mix to prevent scratching the gelcoat. Then clean off the remaining glue with ethanol.

Yeah heat, either from a heat gun or boiling water, and acetone to dissolve the glue. If they are baked on and brittle it could take a while, but if you are lucky you may be able to carefully peel it off in long pieces.
I wondered why someone would put such large number strips in such a prominent position when I saw that pic in the Genoa car thread! Maybe the PO thought it looked "racey"?

Zaphod,
Not the previous owner but us with Chris Owen the day we did a sail trim course. The help those new to sailing how to set the Genoa cars.
We’re not so new sailing now. That was 6 years ago.
Don’t know if you’ve heard of Owen Sails.
