I've purchased a top down furling code 0 and an asym. Cool sails, useful.
But, stirring them when not on the furler is the issue. A 469 has a sail locker, a 439 doesnt.
So, besides inside the boat, anyone seen options to store outside, UV bags attached to railing, under the vang, any ideas?

Have you considered under your salon settee seats. Perhaps you may have to modify the underside of seat to expand space under the seat. What is under your vee berth? You need to get creative!

Been thinking the same thing, as when budget allows, would really like to get a code 0. It would likely fill either of the cockpit shallow lockers which is no use. Down below is not really practical as the sail will be bulky and could be wet.
I keep a dinghy on the foredeck when underway, forward of the mast. I guess the sail could live under the dinghy, and if the dinghy is being towed, just tie the sail on the foredeck. I have fitted some SS handrails on the coachroof forward of the mast, so this gives me something to secure the sail to.

I use a good, heavy duty sausage bag - 17 ft long, which I lash to the life lines in good weather and moderate seas - that mile high freeboard will keep it dry most of the time. That represents two folds of the rolled sail as it is coming down. I access the sail through the forward hatch - fits easily - and I store it on the side of the forward bunk. This I can do alone at the dock or underway - I tie a sail tie to the end of the bag and hook it to the hatch lever for easy access when working on the foredeck. We use the code 0 a lot, so we appreciate the easy set up and take down. If the sausage bag gets wet, we throw down a tarp on one side of the bunk before we bring it below. I can sleep quite comfortably on one side of the bunk with the code 0 below.

Forgive my ignorance (!) but I thought these two sails were for broadly the same type of use? can you advise how much they cost for your 439? Thanks

The code 0 is for reaching. The asymm is for down wind.
The code 0 with a top down furler was 5k, the asym was 3k reusing the top down furler and sheets for the code 0.

Ok, thanks - do you have a 439 performance version, with the larger Genoa with the side deck tracks?

Mine has the inboard jib cars. Not sure if that's the performance version.

I have the same shorter coachroof tracks but also longer deck tracks for a larger Genoa. Not certain, but think my Genoa is 150%
its not great resolution, but you can see the deck tracks on my profile piccy

The sail locker is in reality probably the biggest difference between the 439 and 469. I use a selden furler on my code zero and the sail spends most of its time rigged and ready. I find I use it much more than my spinnaker. It is a big unwieldy heavy bag when stowed. I know that keeping it rigged is not best for the sail but I’m considering this a cost of convenience.

Yup, I didn't realize it at the time when looking for a boat. The interior of the 469 wasnt much bigger than a 439, I did not appreciate how handy that sail locker could be at all at the time.
