When racing our SO 469 we must use our Lewmar electric winches in manual mode. When a winch handle is inserted it depresses a central pin that decouples the electric motor from the winch to allow safe and easy hand cranking. This works fine except that when the winch is already under load it is impossible to push the pin down, so we must lock off the line and release the tension on the winch before the handle can be inserted. Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution?
