We have a two cabin version of the SO379 and are looking to retrofit an extra water tank aft, as we are going to do some extended cruising.
Jeanneau fit an extra tank to most of the charter boats they build and I am thinking of getting the factory made one, as it then does not compromise other locker space.
It looks like there is room underneath the large cockpit locker on the port side. Is this correct and does anybody have a drawing showing where it goes?
Also has anybody had experience of doing this please?

We have the factory second water tank on the 2 cabin version of the 379. It fits flush to the underside of the hull on the port side, aft of the house battery locker. Judging from our friend's 3 cabin layout, the tank should fit under the bunk height in the port cabin. The deck filler is portside aft near the transom and the feed goes forward through the head and crosses the cabin to reach the manifold just forward of the galley sink counter.

What is the volume of the extra tank? I wonder if it could be added to the 36i.

I have an SO 40 with an extra tank under the front berth in the fore peak this gives us three tanks in all and we find it very useful for our extended cruising. This additional tank is about 130 Ltrs and is connected to the adjacent forward tank so no additional deck filler is needed. It is separately plumbed into the system and switched under the chart table with the other two. Best wishes. Michael Solano S/Y Julia Too. In the Eastern Med

Hi Goeff, The secondary tank for the 379 is 130 litres - compared to 200 litres for the main bow tank

Many thanks jdl01. We have the two cabin version and that all makes sense, especially as I can see where the filler will go into the deck on the port side aft. Its now been ordered from the factory and its definatly a matter of convenience over cost!

Hi Chris, I have an SO389 and would also like to fit a second water tank. Would you be so kind as to tell me what the new tank from the factory cost? Thanks and regards. Colin
