I am not familiar with the skin fitting in your photos, but would agree that seems strange not to have a collar nut of some kind with a largish flange. It looks as if it may have leaked in the past, hence the black sealant which seems to have been applied over the joint. I have to be honest, I dont like the look of this and while a pain, would suggest you lift the boat to have this investigated

Got to agree... This doesn't look right. The last thing you want is a large hole in your boat below the waterline. I have heard of some people having through hulls replaced while they are still in the water. There is an obvious technique if you can find someone who can do it this could save you the cost of the lift.

The seacock valves look like they are tru-design www.trudesign.nz/marineAs everyone has mentioned, the thruhull is very strange looking. My guess is that they skipped the nut and used the L bend pipe to secure the thruhull in place. Maybe the skin fitting was cut short to do this. Probably a very bad DIY job. I think you should look at replacing the skin fittings and thruhulls with Truedesign, sooner rather than later.

Agree with consensus, best to change the skin fitting as soon as you can. I would fit a Trudesign thru hull then fit the valve to that then the bend as required eg www.trudesign.nz/marine/products/3-tail-long-thread-90I hate seeing an elbow fitted to the thruhulls then the seacock following. To be effective the seacock should always be the first in sequence

Depending on which continent you are on, Forespar for NA has the Marlon fittings like true design as noted by some.
