I have a 855 and have problems getting the last 20 gallons in the fuel tank. The tank holds 106 gallons but at around 85 gallons the gas backs up. It then takes about 20 plus minutes to get the last 20 gallons in the tank. Does anyone have a fix for this problem. Also, is there a help number or site for technical problems with the Jeanneau power boats? My dealer is no help. Thanks

Is this a new boat? Was the hull painted? Suggest you check your fuel vents for possible blockage. Our hull was painted and they left masking tape inside the fuel vent which created a very similar problem.

Hi Captgary,
I actually just started having this issue with my 795, but I’m having the problems no matter how much fuel is in the tank. I’ve been doing a fair amount of research and it appears to be related to the venting system, which is somewhat complex due to EPA regulations. You may want to check your Jeanneau Owners manual, as in th back of mine it has details of the system, which in my case is the Attwood carbon canister system. From what I’ve found there a 3 components that can fail to cause this issue; blocked carbon filter, failed fill vent valve, or failed inlet control valve. After talking to my dealer tech he mentioned they have been having significant issues with this system. They offered to fix it for me but I’d have to drive to Blaine (4 hour drive) to have them work on it. I’ll probably do that because these components are not easily accessible on the 795. I have a ticket submitted to Attwood tech to help troubleshoot this, but haven’t heard back yet. Btw, if you go to the Attwood webpage they have a good animated video of how the fuel and venting system work.
Im not saying this is the problem you are having, but it’s good to know your fuel system if you don’t already. This isn’t limited to Jeanneau either, I’ve found other boat forums with owners having the same issue and some replaced the carbon filter and fixed the problem.
I’ll be posting my fix once it’s solved!
Cheers, Capt Ron

It was very difficult to fill the port tank. This was occurring since day 1/new. When filling the port side, the tank would only take a low flow – took a very long time to fill. The tank on the other side filled fine. There is an circular access panel above each tank in the cockpit hold/locker. When you unscrew this panel, the fuel fittings for the tank can be accessed/observed. In my case, the fill hose was crimped/bent at this fitting. The hose was too short from the factory (or dealer?). I lengthen the hose which allowed the angle of the hose to be clamped on to this fitting without the crimp. Solved my problem. Dogbreath

I have identified the issue, but I'm posting the issue and fix in another thread as it relates to a much bigger issue. The fuel venting system.

This happened to me in my 2017 MF 855 last summer. It started with an inability to fuel at normal pressure. At one point, the fuel backed up like a geiser and shot all over me, my boat, and into the water. I almost got banned from the marina. Then, I was alone, on my way from Blaine to Roche Harbor in a small craft advisory. Halfway across the Straight of Georgia, my warning light came on about detecting water in the fuel. I pulled into Sucia and drained the water from the fuel filter as best as I could. I had someone help me removed the cowel and drain the water from the holding container. That helped for a week or so but the same thing happened on a calm day crossing the Straight. After several calls to Sundance, they took the boat into the shop and "fixed the venting problem". It was covered by warranty but it took a while for Sundance to take the time to fix it. I was even asked if I accidentally put water into the fuel tank instead of the freshwater tank. Maybe I was the "patient zero" of the Jeanneau fueling vent problems. We are expecting our 2019 895 any day. I hope I don't have a repeat of this problem with the new boat😒
