Hi - I have recently purchased a Jeanneau SO 32i; great boat but needs a little TLC, please can anyone recommend a UK company that can provide spares easily over the internet?...I am struggling to find the plastic cover that goes round the emergency tiller socket for starters.....!

Either Ian Scott at Clarke and Carter in Burnham or Warren Harvey at Sea Ventures in Swanwick should be able to help

Hi John B.....I have a Jeanneau 32 which I also keep at Levington. I have found C&C at Burnham very helpful, Also if you need any gel repairs , the yard at Levington are very good and have made a few invisible repairs to star cracks etc on my boat.
May see you down there sometime . All the best Ron

Hi Ron, Thanks for the recommendation - I have just bought the boat and the surveyor did pick up on some small star cracks on the locker lid so that is on the list of repairs (not near the top though!) Will look out for you, Cheers John

The cover around the emergency tiller socket is a common problem on the SO32. If it is still in place on your boat, you might have a look at repairing it. It is a fibreglass moulding, and can be repaired and beefed up with resin and grasscloth and then painted. I had to do this on mine a few years ago - the flange at the bottom had cracked around the screws and come loose. I reinforced the flange and generally thickened the moulding up to make it more resistant to the hammering it gets on the floor of the cockpit.

Thanks for the advice Jon, unfortunately mine was missing completely so I have ordered a replacement from C & C in Burnham, although I understand they have changed the design so I will need to cut the hole out of the middle and drill the screw holes...I imagine they do get a fair bit of hammer raised up as they are so will see how it goes! I have got a few other cosmetic jobs to do including repairing the teak seat but basically the boat is sound so we are very much looking forward to next summer
